Identity
I purchased this stone at the Rathnapura gem market, near the Clock Tower Square, Sri Lanka (2024). Its unusually shallow cut gives this garnet a distinctive character. The color is vivid and pleasing to the eye. Perfect for setting in a signet ring. This gemstone is named “Дюна” (Dyuna), the Russian word for “dune.” Its softly curved outline suggested the name, while its warm reddish-orange tones recall the colours of the desert.
