Identity
I purchased this gem from a gemology professor in 2024 in Paris. We examined it during one of our classes, but I was immediately drawn to its striking contrast. One half is remarkably clear, while the other is filled with delicate natural inclusions reminiscent of an English garden. This gemstone is named “Олива” (Oliva), the Russian word for “olive.” A stone for exceptional people. Exceptional people are often defined by contrast: remarkable clarity and sincerity, yet sometimes overshadowed by pride and cruelty. They rarely stay close for long, but their contradictions are often easy to understand. That contrast is what gave this stone its name.
